... Sort of. There's a holy tree for sorcerers back in Japan. It's probably even bigger than this.

Yeah, holy trees are pretty common, but the one in Tokyo supports a lot of the infrastructure we use as sorcerers.

... The tree is actually kind of an immortal sorcerer. Maybe. No one knows what they look like, so I don't know if they're the tree, or they live inside the tree.

Not especially. But it feels like the more possible potentials I understand, the more open-minded I'll be able to become in new situations.

It's kind of similar to yours? You fight monsters and we fight curses... But I don't go into another dimension.

We're outliers. No one knows about us. You just do crazy stuff out in the open, right? Everyone knows about it?

Oh, no way. [ shakes his head ] We put up veils whenever we're working so that no one case see.

... Sometimes we forget, but usually the government covers it up.

No, most people have no clue. I didn't either, until I was recruited to join the high school.

But we're probably a bigger population than your group.

[killies]

The high school? Like there's a whole school of you guys, then?

[turbulency]

There's two high schools, one in Tokyo and one in Kyoto.

The Kyoto one's a little bigger, but... yeah. Usually each grade only has two or three students.

[killies]

... That's so few. But do you have specialized... sorcerer classes or something?

[turbulency]

Yeah, though a lot of what we learn is out in the field. Each sorcerer's ability is unique, so it can only be best learned through practice.

It sounds like it would make more sense to have an after school training program than a whole school.

[turbulency]

[ scratches his cheek ]

We spend way too much time doing missions to really be able to attend a regular school.

[killies]

So do you just not really have to go to school because you'll be busy being a sorcerer for your whole life? Does it pay?

[turbulency]

Yeah, basically. It does pay well though. It's a pretty high risk job, so they need to attract people somehow.
