I don't think that'll get them to stop... But it's tempting to know, in the case it could help with all of this. The destiny bond is still a major disadvantage though.

Knowing something would be nice... I don't know if a body can tell us if the fog disappears when we're knocked out and then the deaths happened while we were snoozing—or if they can just wade through the fog without problems for whatever reason.
